For myself, I have a LOT of stuff in this world I would spend my money to get a "LONG TIME" before I would even THINK of a slush inhaler.
It looks like a waste of money to me.....I use the standard spoon.

I don't see a benefit of using one, especially when it's almost $50.

A scoop works just fine.

I would get a long handled scoop with an extra large basket on it before I lugged one of those things around.

I think they would just take up to much space.. and you could probably save your self 40-50 bucks by just using the ol' fashion scoop.  :flex:

sometimes id be nice to have... like when you are setting up your perm and drill 9 inch holes in it when the ice is 25 inches thick, makes 2.5 gal buckets of slush in for jsut one hole...

I think that is what they are made for, and they work great for that.

TOO HUGE JUST LIKE MY TEXT

If you seriously want something that will work similar, just cut the bottom off a bucket or some type of plastic. cut it to the diameter of the ice hole, and screw a dowel into it

I have one and I use it all the time in my wheel house. If I were using a portable shanty I would use a scoop since I could spin most of the shavings up onto the ice. I just suck the shavings up, dump them in a five gallon bucket and throw them out the door. For me it has been worth the money, especially when we have over thirty inches of ice which is pretty common around here.
It seems to go from zero to hero all some have to do is lie.

I guess I will be the odd man out. I use mine in my permy and it works AWSOME!!! money well spent IMO!!!! It makes clean up a snap in the permy, one scoop and the holes are fishable. I  use a 6 inch hole in my portables so its not with me when im hole hopping. I also have a "slushmaster" by strikemaster and it works ok, but not as good as the inhaler. When I first saw them I thought they were a joke, but after using one ,I was sold.

Probably would be the lightest thing I had if I was using it out of my portable.

I don't have the inhaler but I bought ,on impulse, a Strikemaster "Slushmaster" at Cabela's tent sale for $6 last summer. I would never pay full price for one and even at $6 I was kicking myself for wasting my money on such a needless gimmick.

After a season of use, it actually works pretty good.  It's alot faster than scooping. I don't bring it when I'm walking out but it's easy to throw into the truck when I drive out.

All in all, I'll say $6 well spent.

I don't know what its like to fish in a permanent shelter, but this seems pointless for those of us who fish portables or no shack at all.  I drill my holes before I open up my hut, so I just blast the slush out with the power auger.  I don't typically have to skim the hole until they start freezing over.  When I'm hand drilling I can't clear it quite as well, so I have to take out a scoop or two.  This practice would be out of the question in a permanent shack, so I can see where such a device would help.

Unfortunatly my gator/nils dont do a very good job cleaning the hole in reverse. Think it has to do with the fliteing being 1 inch smaller than the actual hole.

You gotta have enough push to get them out away from the hole. The gator turns fast enough to do this with the right bit.

thanks for the input, my thoughts for buying one is for the perm. shack use only seems like there are lots of scoops to get all the holes clear, and had thought this would speed things up so i could get fishing faster.  I also don't see the use for it if fishing in a portable or just out in the open.  when you go out after shack has been out for few days (unused) and reopen holes too is when i was thinking of using this also.

i might get one or make one my self out of a air duct or something.. it takes me easily 10 min to clean out my holes with a scoop and i am going to get a new 10" auger so there will be even more slush to deal with..

Make one out of a tall round tupperware container, like you mix kool-aid in, add a handle and drill some 1/4 inch hole in the bottom. Duct pipe would work too for larger holes, but watch out for sharp edges.
