Can anyone give me directions to the meeting spot, I've never fished Merrymeeting before.

Thanks in advance. Also, any problems with my 9 year old tagging along?

Take the spaulding to rt 11 in rochester, go up 11 to New durham theres a flashing light at a 4 way intersection where you will see johnsons resteraunt on your left thats where you want to take a right and you will go by hotspot bait on your right.
travel to the stop sign and take a left travel till you get to the bridge and take a right after you cross the bridge onto Merrymeeting Rd and travel strait untill you get to the lake, its about 5 miles. you will know your close when you go by the hatchery.
and the lake and parking is right around the corner.

Theres plenty of room on shore to hang out, if the slush is bad on the ice.

hrdwtr24, its supposed to be real cold over the next several nights so i hope this freezes up nice.

Thumber, it depends on how many people show up and what the conditions are on the ice.

I would like to set up on the beach though.

its tough to say, but they may not have a way to the beach after all this rain.
i'm thinking the trails may have been wiped out.
but they were grooming to the beach yesterday so who knows.

Speaking of food

Theres a great store at the Alton traffic circle that caters to ice fisherman.
they have realy great food there, and they sell smelt and shiners too.
Theres also a Mcdonalds there too.

When you go up rt 11 instead of turning right at johnsons continue up rt 11 and you will run into the circle, where the store is.
I know they are open by 6 AM.
