The fat lady is warming up!

I think today will just about do in the ice around here(safe ice that is) Gonna hit the shellrock and Wapsi tomorrow hoping to get some northerns, they should be looking for places to spawn. Unloaded all my ice gear this afternoon and even made a short run on the bike.Gonna miss the ice. BTW, where do you guys hang out during open water?

Yeah, I put my ice fishing stuff away a few days ago in central Iowa.  Fished Big Creek last Sunday and it had about 10" of ice and I am sure it is not safe now.  Not after today, saw open water in areas last Sunday too.  It was a good season!

out this way (indianola) the fat lady has sung and everyone is at home in bed now... also we were out in peru about 2 weeks ago and i fell threw, the ice was only 3.5" in most spots

Never made out of town, tried a few spots on the Cedar and struck out, did have one 5lb northern follow my bucktail to shore but that was about it. Will try again when the levels go down.Saw some guys in boats at Wash access catching a few in the middle of the channel.
