You can tell by my user name that I use a lot of ACME tackle including Cleo's.For jigging 1/8 - 1/4oz Silver/Red has always been a Rainbow killer;with Silver/Blue,Gold/Red(Brookies),Copper/Burgandy(1/3 to 2/5oz for lakers),Chart. and Silver/Chart. are always nearby ready to use.I attach a split-ring to the head of the lure and tie a loop knot to the main line or leader(2-3ft of florocarbon).I like to remove the treble and replace it with a #2 or # 4 hook(personal preference).Drop to about 1ft from the bottom,3 short jerks and the pause.Repeat this process up the water column, staying at any depth for a time that you feel comfortable with,to just under the ice(you would be surprised a the No# of rainbows taht have nailed the lure just under the hole)

I inherited a tackle box with a bunch of new Cleo's in it.
Never thought about trying them through the ice. Hmmm...

On the Bay of Quinte we use 2/5 oz Cleos alot. Tip each hok of the treble with a mud minnow and bounce of the bottom. We also replace the standard hook with an Excalibur treble. It increased our catch rate enormously.

was fishing for crappie last week but i couldn't get a on good spot so i decided to go for some pike. i started jigging some spoons and the cleo always brought in pike, didn't get a hit but i tried six other spoons and nothing. when i went back to the cleo the pike came back, something to think about i guess.

I have a few of them but always chose a kastmaster over them. I'm glad to see other people have confidence in them. I will give them a shot this year
