question about snowmobile in a pickup bed
« on: Feb 02, 2009, 04:10 PM »
Hi guys.
Anybody out there transport their snowmobile in the back of their pickup?   I'm borrowing a sled for the derby this weekend and was wondering if I need ramps or something.  I've got an F150.  thanks

You should be able to find snow banks large enough now. Just back up to the snowbank and pull the sled off... reverse that to load.

If it has carbide runners you may want something between the bed and the ski's

I use to load my sled in the back of my truck with two guys you can pick up the front end place the ski's on the tail gate then just slide her in to unload I use to just pull it out once you get to where its just the ski's left on the tailgate give her a tug and let it flop right on to the ground the suspension should absorb the fall I never busted any thing doing it this way but don't blame me if you do.

the snowbank method works well.you can do it by yourself and when your unloading try to find a banking near a tree. tie the sled to the tree so the rope is tight with the back of the truck in the snowbanking.get in your truck and drive away slowly and the sled will come out of your truck and stay on the banking, untie and your on your way
