Wyland lake
« on: Jan 27, 2009, 10:56 PM »
Has anyone ever tried fishing this lake for rainbow trout?  It's located in tri-county.  My wife brought me home a topo lake book today and I was reading about Wyland lake and I never knew that they stock that lake with rainbow trout.  I may have to try it out since I have never caught a trout before.

If you want to fish it, fish it after the stocking in the spring.  From what I hear the lake has really poor oxygen levels, and the fish don't make it past the summer.

Last year I went all over that lake in early summer, didn't mark 1 fish in deeper water (trout).  Ended up whippin a few gills off the pads with the flyrod.
