At what depth do you fish for brown trout? What kind of bait do you use? do you fish right under the ice or do you fish at the bottom?

Just under the ice to about 10 feet under the ice. Use minnows on small treble hooks. Have at least 3 foot mono leader.

Depends on where you are and what they eat.  Out west here they are usually shallow on the first drop on the bottom in 10'-15' early in the morning (minnow bite) then go down to about 20-30' after crawdads later in the day. We use a variety of baits including brass and firetiger Kastmasters, 3" Gitzits tipped with perch meat or eyes and brown/orange marabou jigs in 1/16 ounce tipped with mealy or perch meat.

I like fishing about 2feet off the bottom in what ever depth with a small minnow-that's how i had most success with browns & trout in general
