Anyone doing any good at Raccoon?  I know it won't be stocked until Feb. 20th but am looking to head out this weekend anyway.

I was there last Saturday, the only one on the lake.  Everyone waits for the fat guy to go out.  I caught 7 trout and missed about that many.  The bite was very light.  Maggots was the ticket.

How thick was the ice? was there much snow on it?

Will be heading out Sunday.  Bait stores open?  Will probably just get bait at Islands on Sat. evening.  Should be 4-6 of us probably back towards the beach area.  Stop on by.

There was 4.5-5.5 inches of ice and snow cover was minimal with some areas blown clear.  I stayed within 20-30 yards of the shore.  There is a convience store right by the lake DJs, 724-899-3242 that has bait.  I talked to him last weekend, he said he will carry bait all season including minnows.  Seamed like a nice guy.  I too will be there on Sunday, red coat and black bibs.  Stop by and "hi".  Good luck.

Thanks for the info.  DJ's opens at 7am.  Will have a black GMC and now hope to have 2 other guys.  Run mostly tip ups, will be wearing black bibs and a camo coat.  See you out there.
