Nice Northern

Just got this back from taxidermist the other day.  This fish was taken out of Lake Ontario near the Black River outlet.

it was in fact 41" the weight is unknown but 17.75 probably isn't too far off.  Yeah, that is actually a pretty good representation.  The Lake Ontario northern's seem to have that color green although it appears the flash from the camera brightened it a bit.  You'll notice too they are much fatter than what we get around these parts.

Very nice fish! It seems the camera must have changed the color of things, as it also made it appear that you were wearing PINK socks when you took the picture.  ;D

i was wondering if anyone would pick up on that. ;D  Wifey actually took picture.  I have a hard time running these new cameras.

Believe it or not, I fished the ol mighty black river in Carthage for many years.  My buddy's and I were were jigging for Walleye one night and I actually landed a 54" Northern Pike at 2:00 in the morning after throwing darts.  This was 2 weeks prior to the season and unfortunately I didn't have a camera and I put him back to breed more big guys.  God I loved the fishing up there.  He was caught on a 1/4 oz jig head with 3-1/2" bucktail.  When I do travel back home Walleys are my favorite to fish!!!!  Wish there were more around here  :'(
