It's F%#&^*# cold! Gonna be the type of weekend to sit in the shanty with the heat on, jig with one hand and sippin a few with the other.
Let's hear what's your drink of choice on such occasions!

Skim milk...

I'm not a drinker. Yesterday my brother brought plain donuts and skim milk. It hit the spot!

We had to keep our beers inside the shanty yesterday it was so cold. The bottles were freezing solid in the neck before you could finish them! My buddy drinking Jack and cokes was squeezing the coke slush out of the bottle to mix it! -24 here this morning, sounds like a good day to sit inside by the fire and work on some projects!

When I'm feeling better, usually Jaegermeister. I like a lot of different beers, none of them come in 30 packs though.

Speakin of Jager. Nice if the Alexandria Fire Dept. could get the VT/NH Jagerettes to attend the Newfound Fishing Derby.

In my twenties when I icefished I always had a couple bottles of MadDog 20/20, in my thirties it was Guevo and Molson Golden, in my forties it was wine coolers and now in my fifties it is Coffee, hot cocoa or ice tea. I figure by the time I get to my sixties I will be drinking prune juice and geritol.

Well I am in my 50's now too but my buddy and I like to have a few beers out on the ice. And a bottle of blackberry brandy to sip on when your toes get cold. If we drink coffee we find that we have to make too many trips to the sh** house on the four wheeler.

thermos of coffee, with a "glug glug glug" of Jameson irish whiskey,a "sploosh sploosh" of baily's added. keeps you warm all day! Irish coffees for me.

Used to like the Maddog 20/20 in my youth which is how I got the nickname. Now it's Diet Dew. Older and wiser I guess. Well maybe just older.

I drink a cup of warm Saki. It's Japanese Rice wine. You know, the kind you get in the ceramic decanter at Hibachi or other Japanese Restaurant. You can pick it up at any Liquor Store.

Heat over a low flame. DO NOT BOIL! You want to keep that alcohol in there ...don't you? Drinking it warm sends it right to the bloodstream for a little lift in the a.m. It's also very comforting on a cold morning. After that, it's to the cold beers in the afternoon.

Remember....Liquor before beer....in the clear.

It definitely depends on the company i'm fishing with. If i'm fishing with buddies, I'll drink beer and try to catch a buzz. If i'm fishing by my lonesome, i usually drink soda. I like to catch a buzz on the ice, but usually have to drive home afterwards, so can't do it too often.

My buddies and I usually (always) drink Bud by the thirty pack with a splash of Dr. McGuillicuty. To keep the cans from freezing we did extensive research and found that if you put them in the bait hole they will float and not freeze. To keep them from freezing after opening we usually drink quite fast.

I like that saying,, I will have to remember that one. Seems that it has always been Beer before Liquor for me. Don't usually get to the liquor,but might just be what makes me sicker. But when your feet start to get cold a sip of that blackberry goes all the way down to them.

When I was in my 20's the saying was,

With Dope There Is Hope

Buddy of mine mixed up a big batch of Mai Thai once and kept it in an igloo with pouring spout. Absolutely fantastic. Too much booze to freeze up. Discretely consumed out of plastic cups. Plenty of vitamins in fruit juice to keep a man hydrated and regular. Had alot of good laughs that trip, but didn't catch many fish.
