Do you guys really eat perch eggs.  I have never heard of that.  If you do how do u do it.  Just curious.
ZAck

You better believe it ;D I just love them!

GamBooler steered you correctly, treat them like a fillet!

 Some added tips.....

Best if you get them fresh, no more than 10-12 hours setting in there with them guts.
I tried keeping the whole sack together, but now I prefer to fry up chunks roughly the size of a chicken egg yolk. I prefer them done....golden-brown and crispy on the outside.

Best thing is you double your tablefare, when you eat them! I would imagine they might be more nutritious than the meat itself.

And.....one last thing THEY ARE GOOD!

That sounds................ ...not very appetizing :o  I think id have to take your word for it on that one. Id try almost anything once but fish eggs would take a lot of convincing.

I'll tell you what, them fillets failed to match-up with the eggs. I ain't kiddin you a bit, I think them eggs are the best!
You guys owe it to yourself and the fish, to give them a try!

If'n fish eggs gives you the willies then you'd have loved lookin' into the 5 gal bucket of FRESH mountain oysters we used to pull from the farm. I used to sneak a handful of small ones out when I was a kid for catfish bait. Man them cats loved oysters and the stayed on the hook too!  ;D

Grandma used to scold me good for taking HER oysters to fish with!!! :pinch:  :roflmao:

Ok you guys ill have to give it a try.  But ill have to say that my sxperience with eating fish eggs has net been good.  Salmon eggs, tast just like they smell.  And i tried pickled herring eggs once too and had to fight back the gag reflex as not to offend the people around me who loved them.  Those herring eggs look very similar to the perch eggs.  But i guess everything is good fried!  Ill give you my opinion next time i get some perch.

That's it!!! As soon as I'm done with a few *honey do's* I'm heading out fer a jar of pickeled herring!

Actually I was also thinking of pickling some of them crappie fillets so I've been googling up some fish pickling recipes.

A jug of herring sounds pretty doggone good right now! (It is lunch time ya know!)  :woot:

I know what you mean I was raised on farms and ranches most of my life. Every year after branding was done there was a big dinner of fresh mountain oysters.
