Whaaaaaa!

We were there for 2 hours and he's cranking them in one after another, then he ups and says,
"I think I'm in the trees."
"What makes you think that?" I asked (cause that's where we wanted to be, 58 feet of water in the cottonwoods in the old river bed where the danged perch hang out

"Oh...cause of this this stationary stuff on the bottom that's never moved on my sonar and the fish keep coming up out of it."
I swear, if I'd have known that, I'd have cut a hole within 2 feet of him! I did throw a few perch in his bucket but it wasn't nearly enough to neautralize that whoopin' he put on me. Go DOGG! You da perch-man bro!

Thanks everyone, Ex-Lt done really good also! Was a wonderful day on the ice, beautiful weather and a HOT bite! What more could an ice-nut ask for?
Just taking a smoke break, from the fillet board 8) Don is lurking around here somewhere......maybe he isn't to the keyboard yet. Gotta go....

Ready, set, Fillet!!

Oh by the way, that's an 19in. trout....for reference-purposes. Ended up being 42 perch in my pile.......I gotta go

J-Dogg, I thought the composition and color of the photo were most excellent and that it was actually suitable for framing, if you right-click on it and select "save etc", it will go into your picture file and you can print an 8 X 10 glossy or send it to your friends or autograph one for your fans when you get selected for one of the 2007 WY Ice Shanty"awards"...and you will most certainly be selected for at least one special award.

Gotta crack'em very carefully...

Back in Kansas we used to take the egg sack from crappies or even small bass and fry'em up just like a fillet. Egg wash, seasoned flour/cornmeal, maybe egg wash and dredge a second time for a crispier outer layer, then right into the fryer. Oil, lard, or pan fry in butter depending upon your mood.

No trick to it, just fry'em up like you would any other little morsel of goodness!
