Now real life. I feel like Charlie Brown and the rock. One poor specimen of a salmon. 17" and built like a broomstick.

2 flags, a whole lot of jigging and this trophy. Better than working. ;D
Back down the hole and hope he finds a big school of smelts.

May God bless and keep you always, may your wishes all come true.
May you always do for others and let others do for you.
May you build a ladder to the stars and climb on every rung,
May your hands always be busy, may your feet always be swift.
May you have a strong foundation when the winds of changes shift.
May your heart always be joyful, may your songs always be sung.
May you stay forever young.

Salty is there a way I can pass this picture along to Joe (bio) not CF. The fin behind the dorsal is missing. I wouldn't know what year that stands for.

Racers down there? This lake is known to have 2 to 3 lb. fish in it usually.

It has always produced nice Salmon not huge numbers but nice fish. The togue die off seemed to coincide with a dramatic change in the quality of fish. Algae bloom is increasing. My white color on my lead core turned green the last time I fished it in September. Caught the nastiest bass and togue I've ever seen from there this year. They looked like Betty white with fins.

I wonder if that fish has a belly full of soft plastic lures and cigarette butts.

Sure it's not an Androscoggin smelt?  😳  That's one ugly sample of a fish.  Good post title too!

If you want to contact Joe Overlock in Jonesboro FW HQ, call 434-5925 and ask him the age of an adipose clipped salmon. He told me that last fall's trapnetting showed that the salmoh were thinner. I hope they can move in some smelt eggs to give the lake and the salmon a boost. I am not sure of Joe's email address.

I'll call down there sometime today and see if I can get it to him. One fish doesn't make the story but it is concerning.

It may not have been exactly what you wanted, but at least you caught a Salmon.  It was definitely better than working.  Congrats on going fishing and catching a Salmon.

At least the spot you found to get on the lake didn't require you to risk your life over that "monster!"

Feed him. He's dying of hunger. A good chili dog or 2 should do.
Is it sometimes a fish being caught or you?
