12'' piece of conduit, 3' of chain bolted to center of conduit, couple ounces of lead poured in one end of the conduit, 3' of rope tied to chain, 2 3' pieces of rope tied to the end of the other rope (forms a 'Y') that attach to sled, 2 clips of some sort tied to each end of the 'Y" that attach to the 2 eyebolts mounted on back of sled.  simply drill hole thru ice slip the pipe down the hole and wedge against the bottom of the ice and pull sled tight....wont go anywhere.  the chain is for cold days when the hole freezes up some and you can take a spud bar or whatever to free it up.  normally if you just slush the hole you can break the chain free by hand.  the lead in the pipe is to allow the pipe to point downward so easier to get it hooked on the edge of the ice.

I bought a cheap runner rug at Wally world. I slide the flipover on to it and leave a couple feet of rug in front of it for my feet. Sled doesn't move and feet stay warmer. I put the rug inside the tub and pile equipment on top when moving. Protects the tub also. It also keeps the area quieter, less spooking of fish. I was thinking of spraying the bottom of the rug with something, but haven't figured out what yet.

I keep my shack hooked to my snowmobile, so I will rarely use an anchor. I use the Clam brand T handles when I do. I will maybe pick up one of these anchors at the ice show this year, T handles suck!
same thing I do with my otter village but I also put eye bolts thru the poles at the top and down near the sled   when it is blowing bad I tie them off on the inside from top to the opposite bottom   and pull tight!   kinda important how you set up anyway too!    alot of wind force on the side of that big tent!   that big ole formula 3 Lt at 670lbs  just ain't gonna move!

I use a 16" piece of metal conduit, 1/2" with a rope going through it, and each end is attached to the sled. Tie a knot on one side of the conduit, that will act as a stop. Lower it into the augered out hole, then keep tension on it, it will keep it in place under the ice, and span across the opening. When you want to move, release the tension, and let the conduit slide down the end opposite the knot. Works fine for me, and I can rely on my portable staying put in a stiff wind. Also, if it's real windy, lower the canopy as a precaution.
