Hello, I was reading that the tip-downs are excellent for the fish that like to run a lot. Als9 the lite hitting and finnicy fish. They should be set with no drag what so ever. The fish should'nt feel any resistance. A lite hitter like a walleye would be a perfect candidate for the tip-down. ( So the book says) I'm thinking about making a few over the summer and seeing how they work out next year. JK
