This site wasn't always like this. (Specifically the NY boards)  You used be be able to come on here and ask questions about any piece of equipment or any business that carried ice gear and get a ton of outstanding information and not have to fear that the post would be deleted because your storefront of choice isnt a site sponsor.  Over the past couple years it has gotten much worse. 

I have not seen this at all.  Can you give specific examples?

As far as fish307 goes i will no longer be giving them any of my business.  They jerked me around for 3 months this summer/fall about getting blades for my nils. They would not return my calls and when confronted acted like they had never heard from me, just very bad business practices.  Then to make matters worse my girlfriend was in there doing some christmas shopping for me and they were very rude and insulted her.  Told her she did not know what she was talking about when she asked for specific things I had listed and "made her feel stupid" in her words.  Truth be told shes probably more knowledgeable than most working there

Seriously?  You might be bad luck.  I've never once had an issue with fish307 or any of the people that work there, and I've been doing business with those guys since they were peacepipe outiftters...

Amazing, Wetsleeves you turned a post about being positive on here into a negative! 

People need to remember that:
1.) This is a private site owned by one person. The mods are volunteers doing our best to keep the site along our boss's ideas.
2.) It is Iceshanty.com   the .com means its a business and thus like any other business, it is out to make money, especially through sponsor ship
3.) If you owned a business, would you want people advertising their business for free?  Yes we talk about different products but when someone starts pushing their product over and over, that's free advertising.
4.) Again, Iceshanty.com is Free to our members because of our Paid sponsors! (Thanks guys  )
5.) If you don't like the way Iceshanty.com is run, you have every right to not visit it.  There are other sites out there(though not as good).

True story.  I used to do a lot of business with them as well.  I was hesitant at first to believe the story from my girlfriend, but my mother was with her and after hearing my mother tell the same story i was irate to say the least.

So you decided to air you grievances in this thread? And you wonder why posts get deleted?
