I've been receiving questions regarding this seasons tournament and I'll answer here :


I was asked if there is going to be children's categories in this seasons tournament.

Yes 


Are children able to be posted through the parents membership ?

No. The children have to be signed up as members (it's free). It gets too confusing if the entry is posted under another members screen name.

Ryan hopefully this helps, not sure if Doug has changed anything but on the sign up page this is what the rule says....

a.) Photo 1: The entry fish must be photographed with the entire rule (measuring device) clearly and readable in 
 the picture as well as the TI 2012 card while still out on the ice. No part of the fish should be on the rule but I make exceptions for a fin, etc..  only yellow push/pull rules will be allowed
     Only the entry fish - No multiple fish in the photo. No inside shanty pics.

yes i realize that it says no inside the shanty pics rule.. but i was more curious of the intent of this ruling..
i assuming that this rule is in place to keep people from faking the shot...wood floor and all. but in a pop up portable the shot will clearly be against the ice.. and the holes.. It's just that getting a fish all lined up on the ruler in 30 below, takes some time,and they freeze in about 30 seconds.. and i don't particularily like to eat 30 inch walleye

Ryan I've tried the "inside the shanty" in the past for exactly the reasons you've stated. I believe I used similar reasons when I had initiated the rule.
The problems started with complaints about not being able to see the entire hole in the picture, no hole in the picture, why can't we take both pictures inside the shanty because that's even better for the fish, etc..
To simplify I just eliminated it.

A question that comes up each season is about the "fish on the rule". I changed it to clarify a little better. It now reads :
No part of the fish should be on the rule but I make exceptions for a fin, etc..

Another thing I noticed last season were entry pictures taken during the day being taken at a downward angle .. like the night rule. It now reads :
If the pic is taken at night kneel and take the pic at a downward angle so as to include the ice. Daylight pictures require background as stated above.

my 16 yrold son will be with me for afew months,,if he become a member of is today,is he able to sign up for the touney,or does he need so many posts,,thanks

Once he is a member all he has to do is respond (post), as everyone else, to the sign up page.
It doesn't matter how many posts he has or doesn't have.
There's only 24 hrs left to do it though.

Think he means the fish's nose start at the 1 inch mark rather than the very end of the tape

Maybe its just me, but some of the tapes do look they are an inch ahead of the fish's jaws, I noticed it in a few of the photos. Just wondering if it is the angle of the photo that makes it look like that ?

Lonewolf figures out the start and finish locations on the tape in order to get the proper length.
It is better to have your tape start a there so as not to accidentally rob yourself by not having the tape go far enough. IMHO
You will never get the fish measuring perfect and it's even harder unless you bonk the fish as they tend to move around. Plus if you're releasing the fish the less time you spend handling the fish the better.
