Carmi
« on: Dec 14, 2013, 06:00 PM »
What was the reason for locking the Carmi thread, alot of what is in that is general chit-er chater! Not to mention the reports and conditions board is a mess and no one goes over there!

Hey guys,

The problem is over the course of the season, a whole bunch of threads will get opened for the same lake and it becomes cluttered and people can't find the information that they want. Otherwise it defeats the purpose of having the two different boards.

I'm all for a Carmi general chit-chat thread - I locked the reports threads down so people would post in the right spot.

If there is a problem with the reports and conditions board, let me know. I'll be glad to work on making it better.

Not trying to be a grinch, just want to make this  site work the way it is intended. Other states use the format and it works a lot better  :)

I guess the sub categories need to make it to right under the vermont section to cover lake specific ice conditions and such like in the past. This would help rather then closing threads when one feels too much additional information is flowing in.

I agree locking is not the answer.
I was looking to reply to Lund and realized it was locked.
Lund, if you see this, you & I met in the parking lot and had a discussion about the Marcum units we both have.
My day wasn't as productive as yours was...I caught nothing but dink yellows. Moved around from 11 FOW to 35 FOW, finally had to set up my pop up as I got cold. 3F most of the afternoon and the ice was a solid 7-8"

Hi All - Somebody on the locked thread was asking about bait.  The general store in Franklin only has worms for bait, but excellent lunch fare. Buyems store on the north "end" of the state park road has minnows and spikes.
Saw a half dozen people on the ice today, including a snowmobile and ATV.
I hope this snow does not screw up the ice!

Went over to carmi this weekend fished on Sunday and Monday. We caught two decent size pike in the 25 inch range, caught a decent size perch probably about 10 inches, and we caught a 20 inch walleye. Had the shake out on the south end, with 7-8 inches of ice.

if you are coming from the state park road you will go past park entrance and up the road there is a 4 way take left down hill on dewy shore rd, just towards the bottom there is a trailer on the right hand side with open flag out front you will see it believe its a white trailer.

i am still learning the lake myself, i would take some advice on that one myself, how many FOW for jigging walleye would be a huge help for me!

I am also axrookie on that lake, but what I've seen 25 FOW is a good place to start, but that doesn't mean much since the lake is only 33 deep
