Does anyone know if the last guys out at the catt got off the ice safely. The helicopter was on the way when i left. I hope things went well Saturday. I was out there when things got very scary.  First time fishing on moving ice, it's no fun.

looks like not that far of a walk (judging by the windmills in the background of BIGFISH's pic)..  is that near Smoke Creek or Rush creek?

Depends on what you consider a long walk? Its Erie. 2-3 miles is NOT uncommon sometimes 4-7 miles is needed to get to fish

We were out over three miles but it took us two hours too find the fish that the hard part catching the easy stuff       lol.  Bigfish

a yea too much info big fish iam done with giving info went back today there was a propane crockpot left out there with some empty I P A s and a johnny on the spot that was full and no one empty yet and the cookies were gone ps aquaman that's what lake erie does to ya once again good times

Just wondering what perryt considers "safe"...is it a foot of ice and nothing above freezing in the forecast?  Don't know if you have ever seen a pressure ridge, these are caused when ice is forming.  As it expands it has no where else to go and causes cracks, sometimes violently.  Safe ice is relative and I thinks is stupid to berate someone based on your own definition.

After the ice shifted at the catt i would think twice before going on erie until it's boating season. It was no fun fishing on moving ice. If anyone goes out be careful!

We should get fathead and a pile of guys that went this year to all try for the same time, so we have a lot of guys spread out looking for fish. I know 7 guys that went this year 2 went with me.

Wegmans? **censored** is Wegmans? Its an hour to the nearest Wegmans for me and 50 min to Erie. The fish are free at Erie  ;D ;D
