NEW222: Here's the pictures you requested. Hope these help.

Although these photo's are not the greatest they should help. The bottom picture shows the modification I made to the line hook at the end of the arm.
ctbob's close up of his trigger set-up on page 3 of this thread is quite similar and a far better picture.

are these legal in ontario?

I was fishing with a Homemade Slammers and the rods was set like a downrigger rod and when we were checked
by the Game Wardens on Lac Des Milles Lac they never even questioned them.
They aren't spring loaded, so yes they are legal in Ontario.

thanks for the reply - is lac des milles in Quebec or ontario?

what do you mean "set like a downrigger"?  Sorry, I'm new to this, and I've never used a downrigger

The rod is bent over in an arch and when the fish hits your bait it releases and pops up usually setting the hook if the water isn't too deep.
Checkout some of the pictures on the first couple of pages at the beginning of this Threat and you will see how the rods are set.
Lac Des Milles Lac is in Northwestern Ontario about an hour and half drive west of Thunder Bay Ont near Ignace Ontario.....Big Lake with a Thousand Islands in it and a Famous Walleye Lake.

I call them The Downrigger Tip-Ups if questioned by the Game Wardens.

TheDL they are easy and cheap to make.....Canadian Tire has the metal rod holders and I use a paper clip that goes into the rod tip eye
which you can adjust the angle easily for different tension settings by bending the paper clip up or down.

Generation x9 manual auger, 4 mile 50x zoom binoculars, 50 feet of some fishing line found behind the bait shop, a bare hook, some worms, and a 50 gallon bucket.
