Was at mission in the morning 1 small jack 1 small walleye and 1 perch. Now we are also sitting on Pasqua and it's slow. 4 Walleye so far all pretty small.

Sat on pasqua all morning and most of the afternoon. About 6 eyes, only one keeper. Tons of tulibee also. Pretty slow day overall. Hopefully I'll have better luck in the new year

I have also had a run in with sray pets not at the Quappelle Lake, but at another lake.  I had a stay cat eat the smelt on one of my rods in the back of the the truck, unfortunately the hook was still in the bait. :-\
Poor thing got the hook in the lip and the cat went frantic and bust though the heavy line I had on and escaped before I could set it free.
I still feel bad for that and hope it got that hook out. :(

Make sure guys and gals do not leave your hooks or baited lures out when not in use when hungry strays pets or wildlife are around the area.

I also once saw a dog { chocolate lab} who was going to pick up a pike and take it to his owner.
The fish was still alive and very mad, as the dog picked it up the pike it grabbed the dogs tongue and wouldn't let go.
The owner then had to pry the fish's jaws off the dogs tongue. :pinch:
That pooch sat pretty quite beside his owner the rest of the afternoon. :woot:

Holy Water Wolf, I've never heard of that happening before, that's crazy! I choose to leave my dog at home for ice fishing, usually the only time you will see me without him and that's simply because he thinks every animal should be his friend. He's curious as all hell and a big suck when it comes down to it but Ice fishing and hunting he stays home lol! Glad to see you all are having some success, I'm just happy to be out there, the decent fishing is just a bonus!

@hunt2001 whereabouts were you on pasqua?  We were out most of the day at the west boat launch and it was dead.  Didn't see anyone catching anything but a cold.  I think we had 2 tiny eyes and that was it.  Frustrating

Hammered the eyes on pasqua yesterday, 25 eyes and 3 pike. 6 keepers. They seemed to be liking the mealworms best. We had a great day out there yesterday

Yeah those 2 incidents were crazy for sure.
We all have to make sure keep our pets and the strays who have no one to look after them, safe from the sharp hooks and sharp teeth and spines of the fish.

I agree about just being out there, for me just going out and fishing or ice fishing is a treat in it's self, fish are a welcome bonus. :)

Good to hear the Qu'Appelle Lakes are producing for you guys.

Nice to hear some fish being caught on these lakes. I will be spending some time at echo during the Christmas break. Any info would be great not asking for " the spot" just somewhere I could take my daughter and get some fish. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

What's the best way to access Pasqua and echo coming from the north (cupar)?  Will be at the inlaws and am going out Boxing Day.

drive straight south of Cupar on the 640 grid turn east on the 727 grid, takes you right in between Echo and Pasqua

Merry Christmas everyone! I'd like to tow my trailer/converted shack out to the chains on Friday.  I was going to scout a few spots with my tent and check ice thickness - however, I'd prefer just to take the shack out there and fish in comfort.  So, I'm just wondering how thick the ice is on these lakes?  Are lots of people driving on?  Thanks!

I have the same question.  Heading out tomorrow with a trailer and would like somewhere with easy access.  Last year I fished most of the season off Katepwa Beach - but the fishing was pretty slow.  I might try Echo, but if there is a spot that's easy to get on to Pasqua that would be ideal.  I've fished Lutherland but never the far West end.

Fished lutherland yesterday caught a few wallys and a pike. Probably gunna move my shack outta that area way to may people fishing around there, might try the cross on the hill. It always produced good number of walleye in the boat.

Echo was awesome over the past two days for perch, near the park. Walleye not so much. Many were smaller than the perch!
