I agree and am jealous! Haven't seen anything but does, fawns, a few spikes and a LOT of turkeys and coyotes. Couldn't find a turkey during season. Now, I can't shake them.

I am with you man. Its been slow going for me too, but hopefully persistence pays off.

Yup! Hang in there. Come to think about it, it's bed time now, as Turkey Day is a big day for us. Good Luck, and as I always like to say, Get a Bigg'in!

Well the old guys are beating me. I let a nice 7 walk right by tonight.
I have to beat them or just shoot a doe to top off the freezer the small buck are safe I'm the only one that hunts this hill next year they will have more points. But there's lots of season left and they are walking all day long in this warm weather.
Good luck my ice brothers.

Hey Jim, what's up Bro! Nice looking Bear! He's been dipping into the cookie jar one too many times!

Looking forward to resurrecting "Team White Pimple" this year after last years' respite, LOL! Hope you're well and see ya soon!

Good to hear from you Mike! Yeah, that bear was definitely eating well! I didn't even know he was around, you would think someone would have seen a brute like that.
Team White Pimple will be ready to hit the ice this year for sure after last years ice fiasco! I haven't been out since the night before Labor Day, when the number 1 cylinder decided to throw a rod in my outboard. Just had the carbs rebuilt too. I am jonesin' for some laker action, bad. I am re-building a house that burnt on Otsego this summer, so I am only 50 feet away from the water, but no boat! The past 2 weeks have been perfect out there too, most of the day it is just like a mirror. Perfect for that deep jiggin'!

Hope ice comes early!

I got this nice 7 pointer down in Westchester county yesterday morning with my bow. He was chasing a doe along with a 6 pt and a spike.

Is it legal to use a bow tag during regular season?  My understanding was the archery buck tag could not be used during the regular season. You can shoot a buck with a bow during gun season but that deer has to be tagged with your regular season tag.  Archery season officially closes the day before gun opens and re-opens the day after gun close which means the tags are worthless during regular season.

My interpretation of the law makes me believe you have an illegal deer down?  Is my law interpretation wrong?

Great buck Roy! What part of Westchester were you hunting? It's where I live and hunt.  I mostly hunt South Salem, Waccabuc and Pound Ridge! Congrats on a nice one!

That's great Roy! I used to have a nice spot on West Patent Rd in MK and then the owner of the property sold his house! New owner wanted nothing to do with archery! Was afraid I'd shoot his kids, LOL! Let me know the next time you're down this way!

Blue_Lund, Westchester County is archery only.  What's more, you always get two doe tags and, if you fill them, you can apply for more if I'm not mistaken.  I've never needed to do that because I hunt in neighboring Fairfield Co, CT also and there you receive 6 archery deer tags, 3 for either sex and 3 for buck only.  Pretty good deal!

Way to go Roy! I'm certain he will be the guest of honor for a few ice fishing lunches this year. Thanks for sharing your success with us!

Raquettdacker, nice job on the burgers! We're grinding up some of my sons tonight, can't wait to patty up a few! Thanks for sharing!

Nice buck adkRoy   That blue_Lund is a nice guy and all but he's obviously one of those folks who never actually reads the rule book that comes with your license ::)   I don't know why they don't make the same tag rules for 4J since that's also archery only even though it's not all of Albany county.  You should be able to use your muzzleloader/archery tag there during the regular season especially if you tag out early with the rifle you could then bowhunt there and not have to wait until the late season to go again.
