Im smack inbetween Ottawa and Toronto, so Im open to Simcoe or a lake in the Ottawa area. Bay of Quite is also a good suggestion as it is central to both. We did hit it a few years back for a G2G, but it is worth discussing

Sorry about that BrianV I didn't realize you were that far away from Lake Simcoe, guess I should have looked at the map before I made the suggestion. But the Bay of Quinte sound interesting icejunky.
Be safe out there, and set the iron.

No worries! Actually, I would love an excuse to fish Simcoe sometime. I've heard lots of good stories from there...

Count me in for an excrusion to the big bay. It's on the hit list for this winter and will probably be the only time I can get my brother on the ice for a couple days. A weekend thing would be best.

It's hard to believe that the ice is just around the corner . I'll make a post early November in regards to an early ice G2G in Ottawa.

Hi Gang,

I live in Ottawa but fish in the Pembroke area - anyway I'm in process of making a new hut with a pop up trailer, I'd like to keep in touch in case I can hook up!

Thanks in advance

You know what we are leaving a real treasure of a lake out of the equation here fellas.

After getting skunked repeatedly over the past year both on the ice and on softwater I am going to be passing up any Quinte runs and settling for exploring a closer lake this year.

Sharbot lake looks like it is a great spot and should hold a lot of fish.

After checking out the maps I think this would be a great place for an Ontario gathering... close cheap motels too for all those travelling from a distance.  Just my input but I think it would be great.   ;D

Just wondering where this gathering is supposed to take place? I might be able to make it depending on whereabouts it is.  :)

Well, it's just a lil bit over a 5 hour drive for me but hey it could be a possibility! Good times, good people & lots of fish is well worth a drive like that  ;D

I was just checking out some contour maps of Sharbot Lake and there are some nice spots not too far from the Public Launch where Hwy. #15 crosses the lake at the narrows.  Map also shows that Lakers, Pike, Walleye and bass... not fishing bass but it shows them.... and there are some nice saddle areas that should help funnel the fish too.... I am going to check it out once it ices up real good and will report on my findings.  It would be nice if anyone had a contour map to post a copy here for everyone to check out to plan for this get-together if it comes together.  All of my maps are electronic... on my Iphone... so cheap as an app Navionics chip info that cost me hundreds for my fishfinders now cost you five bucks for the phone... go figure.   ???

As of today there are still some open spots on the lake but I know a few locals who have made it out already....fishin was hit and miss...for eyes.

Another week and it should be closed over except the long range forecast is callin for a small mild spell later next week

Overall I guess the whole lake is pretty safe during the major winter.

Any spots we should watch?

Any and all info greatly appreciated.   ;D
