Football season came to an end last week and bless my boys' hearts, they bought me a gift card to Scheels. Much to my delight and to Mrs. jbuss79's chagrin, I got some new stuff for my "new"shack and some gear. Got my stand-in for Black Friday at work. Hoping you guys are right about the ice or else it's shopping with my bride.

No, there is no ice on Deerfield yet. There's lots of small trout lakes and most of them prolly have some ice by now. That pic is possibly Horsethief. I haven't been out scouting yet because I'm still wailing on pike at Stockade in my boat and will be again this Saturday. Great pic tho, I knew we'd have ice right on time!

If I ever ice a keeper I'm gonna attempt a fillet endeavor an then serve up a Gator de Royjulius platter!

Sounds great! Soak the fillets in salt water overnight, then roll em in a 50/50 mix of Emeril's Essence and curry powder. No flour. Sear on high heat and serve. Filleting them takes practice, but if we ever meet up on the ice I'll do one right in front of you and show you how.
