Yes. For most people it's a 4 day weekend and a good time to try to get out in the Hills. I took a 5 day weekend then, so lets hope it pans out! 50 now.....

Sitting in the stand and I can feel the crisp wind lol if I close my eyes and pretend I have a pole in my hand, it makes me smile and makes this slow night of hunting all the more tolerable lol

45 days and had an inch of snow on the deck rails Friday night! I went to Sheridan Friday afternoon to do some perchin' in the snow but my fuel pump went out as soon as I got there. God bless fishin buddies that will come out of their way and tow your boat home for ya!

Good thing I wasn't planning to spend money on new gear this year.

Came home this evening with an ice house (thanks King Cat!) and upon explaining what it was and what it does to "The Bluegill Hunter" it now seems as though there are two of us in the house counting the days until there is hard water. This is a good thing because 1). I have someone to share in my misery/excitement and 2). It shifts the balance of power away from the girls just a bit. On a side note, Cabelas has their ice fishing wares out with the Rooster to follow suit soon. Time to make me a Christmas list.

Was in Fargo this morning and Gander Mountain had just put all of their ice stuff out. 4 hours later and a sore wallet I walked out. Gotta love the anticipation in OCT and NOV!!

Out at newell lake today, didn't fish at all just out scouting for deer. But I don't see how there is any fish in there. It seems so shallow.

I was too busy getting new line on my tipups, re arranging my jig boxes, changing out reels, cleaning out the shanty, etc!!

Anyone else see this weeks morning lows?!?! Low 20's and high Teens??? Weatherman Jay says it will be sticking around for a while! Hope it isnt yet another teaser!!

I was at the river all weekend with some friends. I caught catfish and walleyes and my buddies shot a few birds. Great weekend!
