There is a public Launch off of Moscow Rd. Its a state access and I know that half of the lake is privately owned. But otherwise you should be able to fish it.

I might try and get up there for the weekend.......I'm kinda hoping someone will post some info on ice though.  I know the club that owns half of the lake stocks big browns and walleye there.....and they lower the res. down some for the winter too

I have a quick question for you guys. Being that I never fished hungtington before, how long of a walk is it from parking area to the spot we are going to fish? Reason I ask is I broke my sled at the end of last season and was going to replace it this week but everywhere I looked (Cabelas,BPS,Gander) they out of stock or backordered >:(. Finally I called Fur,FIN & Feather at Livingston Manor and they said they got them but they open from 8am to 5pm and that means I can't have it for Sat morning to haul my gear ???

Holehawg,
You said your cousin owns mountainbaitandtackle. He is a great guy .

My thoughts exactly.  I used to live in Claryville just north of Liberty for a few years, and that dude at Mountain Bait and Tackle was as cool as they come.  He even pointed me towards a few decent Lakers on White Lake with my downrigger on open water.  That lake is a CIRCUS in the summer- but has some surprisingly nice Browns too...  Just small in number...

Guys like that deserve to succeed in the tackle business- and from what I hear he is doing well with it.

We need more bait shop owners like that dude.  He is the real deal...

i live a little south of huntington in Sparrowbush, ny maybe like 35-40 mins and everything here is ice.  Everything was ice all day or it froze up nicely so it should be good up there.
