Here is a link to an "infomercial" on youtube for the chubby darter.  It recommends using a light line to get better action.  Its about 10 minutes long but kind of entertaining.  Good luck with the chubby

hey dead eye, i was trying to use 4# test with my number 3s and they would fall like a rock too. its tough to get urself to do but the 2# was the best, i bought some 3# and strung it up on a different rod, it seems to work, 2 is the best tho. good fishing
