Thanks again greg for the help.  great job on the website.  I have some great sponsors this year.  I got a call earlier today from best buy.  They are donating 1000.00 for the derby.  Plus miller ford donating 1500.00.  And several sponsors donating 500.00.  Adds up qiuck.  I should raise  15000.00 this year.  after all the exspenses i should be able to give camp sunshine a check for 7500 to 9000.
thats outstanding congrads

I need a couple of opinions on a derby decision.  I dont have a lot of kids prizes this year, although i do have a lot of prizes.  I was thinking of buying playstation 3, WII, and a playstation 2 for first, second and third prizes.  I have a lot of gift certificates to give the kids and some traps but dont want the Gift cards to fall into there parents hands.  Then there is the argument that we are trying to get the kids to enjoy outside sports and not sit inside playing games.  What do you think?

At least the Wii is more than just sitting and clicking, like the other two options.

Gift certificates are in these days. Get some from an outdoor store like Beans or Cabelas.

I like that idea too. Or maybe some camping gear.

I have a hard time with the gift certificates, cause some parents think they need it more than the kid.

What about setting them up w/ a full ice fishing set?

3rd can be a basic set up w/ basket, traps, skimmer, creepers, etc......

2nd can be a little more.....same as 3rd, but with a jigrod, jigs, etc...kind of like a premium package.

1st could be the deluxe package with all of the above plus a flasher??

maybe??  just a thought.....

Kids are free with any adult membership already.

How about a lifetime fishing licence? About the same cost as some of those game consoles.

It is one of the things that the MIAA wants to start doing. If we can reach our membership targets and achieve our fund raising goals we plan to give them away at all the derbies next year.

It really is a gift that lasts a lifetime.

Thats a great idea.  As far as derbies go it makes thing difficult.  Exspecially for me because i say in the pamphlet the amount of winnings for kids.  The older the kid the more exspensive the licences are.  So if a young kid finishes first he get less than an older kid that finished third.

Just give them the cash.  Hopefully the parent/s are not a bunch of dirtbags and lets the kid buys what he/ she likes with it.

Thank you badkarma for the gift certificate.  Ill shoot you a p.m.

Paul i think someone will be down there with bait.  Steve Rodimak is going to donate all the kids prizes this year plenty of other things and asked if he could sell bait.  I think he might be there with bait.  If not i will let you know otherwise.  Hows the shack coming paul, I plan on stopping there this weekend.
