I can't wait until someone tries to break in to a shanty I'm sleeping in...just because there is no vehicle or snow mobile doesn't mean nobody's inside....
Not working for 2.5 years because of a bad back is taking it's effect on my bank roll...but hey,my fishing skills are much better :}

hello fellow fishermen!

I am new to this site and was browsing around on the net looking for good ice fishing tactics, gear and what not and discovered this site. so far it is superb! I am only 22 and have just started ice fishing around central alberta for two years. Sylvan lake has been some good times so far but we are only seeing one big pike in an 6hr day. We use large herring for bait because we are mostly interested in catching a 20lb pike. so i was wondering if anyone had good location for large pike, our current spot is about 1km away striaght out from lakeshore drive in about 10ft of water

Well you just keep fishing that spot with big baits and eventually you'll get one.

Big bait doesn't mean big fish...I've caught half of my monsters on 6-7" anchovies.

Sylvan, i think it's time u had me out at sylvan...Are u still going to gull this weekend?
