Whatever comes in on the radio the clearest! Try to get rock but if not country will do just fine.

I usually don't listen to anything on the ice. The Tragically Hip sounds good though. I haven't heard them in years. I should go dust off my old CD's. The Dead is always a good choice. Thanks for reminding me :)

Ditto on the Prairie Home Companion and NPR. I also like to listen to any sports. After that, it's whatever's on the radio. Our AM station plays some great classic country. I like rock as much as the next guy, but something about classic country paired with fishing just seems right.

I carry a $5 transistor radio and turn it up only loud enough so I can hear it. I don't like being forced to listen to others' music, so I try hard not to make others hear mine.

a reel peeling out line or a bell chiming the song of a fish on are music to my ears, but when i can't listen to those things on the ice, i enjoy the the peace and quiet that is so lacking these days...

Rock, country will do in a pinch. Don't blast it though.
The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable,
a perpetual series of occasions for hope.

The best music...according to Sweetie....is that unmistakable "grunt...bubble..bubble .." of a trophy laker just under the ice.
