Me too. A member of the "Coffin Dodger Club". Hope they had a 10" hole.
Too funny, Denny!  :roflmao:
I'm sure that fish has dodged plenty in it's lifetime and could tell you plenty of stories.
I wouldn't worry about the 10" hole. I don't know the angler personally, but I do know that he has plenty of big fish under his belt, including trophy lakers! He's well prepared and should be commended!

Sebago last Sat. I watched a father and three sons play a Big togue for 15 min saw the fishes head go by the hole twice they had a light rod and he really did well until they got it with in 8' of hole rod tip should have been down in hole to keep line away from hole lower edge       .The line let go  .the fish had a head the size of a football think it would have set a new record for Sebago.I took several photos of him playing the fish rod tip down hole on one side then the other.  Felt bad to see it end like that .But they will remember it forever...

AWESOME!!! Congrats!!!

Glad for a couple of reasons:
Beat / Shattered the state record held for years, since 1958.
Caught by someone from NH (not from Mass).
I'm still alive to see the new state record lake trout.

I hope it's held for years to come.

Cheers to them!

Who cares, I guarantee you’re not going to catch that fish. I’m just happy they got it certified, and I got see some pics!

I personally hope they do not name the body of water it came from for the record, unless it was like Winni or another one of the really big lakes. Winni can handle the pressure, a small pond would spell trouble for the fish in the lake.

Yeah I figured, oh well, in another 70 years they will have some more swimming around. I can think of a good place to open a bait shop for next winter...

Pretty sure a fake. Can't find any more information. To be the old record by almost 10 lbs don't think so.

Congratulations would have been a nice 3rd post. Obviously you don't know this guys record for catching big lakers .
I hope your post after you see the proof will be an apology.

You don't think I'll catch it? Damn.  There go my plans for the weekend.

Wanting to see it go official versus running to that lake like a schmuck are two completely different things.

That makes 3 20 plus lb fish out of that spot. In a season and a half

Exactly! Pretty impressive but hence why it won’t be a surprise. I think the only thing that’ll save it is that it’s not centrally located and kind of out of the way. Tough to hammer on unless local or retired. Let’s hope it’s how I see it anyway, she ain’t big lol

Hahaha, great 4th post.  Well, I don't know the angler but if the info about him in the post is accurate then I am glad to see the record go to a guy who clearly puts the time in.

Looking at the pic, the amount of snow on the ice, the uncluttered shoreline, the spruce trees.....   My guess is that Laker fisherman won't be surprised where it came from.
"Hope" is not a good fishing strategy!

No one should care were it came from don't intrude on someone else's spot unless you like your spot intruded on just keep putting it your time lightning does not strike twice
