Unfortunately Rattle Wheels are no longer made, on warmer days when temps are above freezing there a great option for fishing extremely shallow water. Having the leader only below the ice is a stealthy way to fool a GIANT in the shallows this time of year………….

Yes sir!  Reminds me I ought to text mr. Pikekiller and see what he's been up to.  I wonder if he ever looks here anymore.

I seen Seth and his boy on the ice a few weeks ago, he’s doing well.

Only fair that I mention my first break off on floro today lol
50lb test flag went up on a live sucker, flag went up 3 feet of line was taken and hook cut off. Never even felt a fish...it happens!

That blows.  The upside is some would say you'd never have the flag if you ran steel.  Id rather never get the flag than get it and get cut but that's just me.

Lake B was a zoo yesterday....

I didn't think it was too bad. I've seen it a lot worse. Fishing sucked though, only a couple of small perch jigging

That sucks.
Guy I fished with was telling me he’s never been cut off at dinner Sat night, Sunday morning he was cut clean using 80lb Blue label fluorocarbon. He cursed himself.  ;D

Take it from me, steel ain't bulletproof either. My son busted one off a couple weeks ago on 20# wire. He swears it was snagged up but looking at how the wire separated I'm thinking it was a fish that just wouldn't move and broke it thinking it was snagged. Leader broke in the middle, with all the strands the exact same length like you'd cut 'em with a scissors. I tried to tell him you can't move a 20# fish and if it doesn't want to move you would think "snag". 15 FOW well away from weeds and brush and nowhere near the hole.

Sorry for your loss icehole. Like my musky fishing buddy and I say often: "Drink Coke. Play again."

To fish or not to fish? That's a stupid question!

Once I tried fluorocarbon many years ago, I never went back to steel! Seagur is a great brand too 👍 Once I saw 4lb - 5lb and a couple in the 6's not cut through, I knew it was worth it! I always change out leaders if a toothy fish nicks it up though.
Great report 👍
