Put the SS Wingnut on and then put on a nylon insert lock nut to keep from losing your wingnut. Works for me.

A few proto-types.
All basically the same reel, each with a different arbor though.
Oak. Plastic. Aluminum.
Copper tube pieces for the handles. 
2 SS screws/nuts to hold assembly together.
2" diameter arbor.
~3" diameter disk.
