i'll put my money on perch.! In most blind taste tests, it's 50/50. Half people can't tell them apart.

Perch for me. Crappie even trump the gills in the winter time.
It's easier to catch fish when your not on the computer

Love them both,I've caught thousands of keeper gills over the years. I'm basically fishing for gills and crappie because they are the predominant species in the lakes I fish. My only shot at numbers of perch are my trips the Erie (the bay) and getting a limit of fish is pretty common. I'll take 10"-14" perch all day. I'll be heading there soon again before the ice goes.

a 10 or 11 inch male perch puts off a really nice fillet.  I like eating both, but I love catching big perch...

bluegill are awesome, i like perch fishing through the ice.  much easier to catch in winter compared to gills, plus it helps i live near one of the worlds great perch fisheries st claire.  i have to get a boat lol.  i just dont want to deal with the headache
