Thanks for the input (and the chuckles)... I was generally doing many of the right things but I have a few more ideas now to try.

If a fish is moving up to your lure/bait ...its interested in how your presenting it ...sometimes a little keep away can seal the deal.

try ditching the lures and going with a straight up baited hook. The fish could be just acting spooky.
May the fish be with you.

Sometimes I sneak my camera down a hole and see what they really want.

They steal the camera, right?

Downsize. Get the size right and you'll start getting hits. Then fine tune with color. If that doesn't work, dead stick with live bait tipped on a small jig. If that doesn't work, move on to different location. You might have to move 10 times or more before you find aggressive fish.

Are you using a small swivel and a leader? With line twist the jig can spin and act weird.
I found that makes a big difference in presentation.

Lure spin is the enemy  :nono: :nono: :nono:...a good ball bearing swivel ..little pricey ..but hey we are in it to win it ..I recommend black ..as sometimes fish will move past your bait/presentation and hit the swivel .

I got the skunk today... Started with the go to jig and waxie...Screen lit up and even had fish in the middle of the water column... I was all excited. Threw down a shad rap #3 and literally the screen lit up like a Christmas tree. I thought it would be bonsai!!! Not a bite. Not a nibble. Dead stick, color change, spikes, waxes, minnow, minnow head, plastics, down size, inline reel for spin, NOTHING!!!! Punched 30 holes changed depth, tried everything. Once agin the skunk rears it's ugly head. We tried fireball, coors light, I literally threw everything I own down those holes. Hopefully it will be an evening bite.
