Just be glad you don't live in the Southeast; we are screwed royally at this point. :P  BTW, teens in Mt. Pocono the next couple nights won't hurt. I'll be driving two hours on Sun, again.

Yea. At this point Van. We need a miracle in February to get some safe ice.

Well Fred it looks like the colder temps. Are finally coming back. I dont think this far east it will help with making ice from scratch. But places like Chunk or peters creek that survived. Should  hopefully come back.  ;)2

And the frigging weather people said this year was supposed to be a brutal winter. This is ludicrous.

Yep, the rain is like wind... it blows!
Woke up this am with good intentions to make the 2hr+ ride north only to the rain coming down hard enough to go back to bed.

Here in SEPA we got zilch this year. Last winter we had a 1 month window of ice fishing. I got out 17 times. This year out twice. Hoping for things to hold up in pike & wayne co a couple weeks yet. Id like to go out a few times

On the plus side, pretty much all the streams in the Southeast are low and we still aren't caught up, though it helped.

They will go back down to the level they were. The water table is much lower than it was years ago. Van. Take a ride up by the boyertown res. Its almost empty !!

For us in the Northeast, the rain is a bit of a blessing.  We got between six and twelve inches of snow, depending on where you're at, earlier in the week and the rain will melt it down and when it gets colder the next couple of days it'll build up the ice.  I was out yesterday and there was 6 1/2 inches of clear ice on the lake I was on beneath six or seven inches of snow.

At this point I give up on ice here.  I'm hoping for monsoon rains so the walleye school up on what was the  banks in the rivers.

The problem with the gene pool is that there is no lifeguard.

Got a bad feeling this may be the last good weekend, or at least close to it, going to be a high of 60 here on Sunday, with highs in the low 50s/ mid 40s all next week, and even lakes up north or higher elevation that hold ice well are struggling to hang on  :'(.

Gf and I are headed to Tioga this weekend for one last ice fishing trip (plus, promised her a romantic getaway for Valentine's weekend, killing two birds with one stone ;D). Then looks like its gonna be about time to tie flies and get the boat ready.

Wasn't an all bad season, actually first got out pretty early the weekend before Christmas. We just didnt get the uninterrupted cold spells needed to lock up some of the bigger lakes with sustainable ice.
