Anybody finding any walleye in Coteau bay? Fished it today and only caught a dozen perch a pike and a burbot. Can't seem to find the walleye and stayed till dark. A newbie DNR was out today....first time I've been checked all winter.
Good things come to those who bait.....My biggest worry is that my wife (when I'm dead) will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it.

I spent 6 hours in Coteau Bay yesterday.  Caught nothing.  Had one bite.  Drilled at least 30 holes in all different depths.  Tried many different techniques.  Saw one perch on my camera all day.  Talked to some other people, they weren't having much luck either.  Maybe I don't know what I'm doing. :o

Fished coteau area for two days Saturday and Tuesday. With horrible results. Handful of perch. Saw tons of whites and eyes but no takers.  Waiting till end of March Madness now.

Slow fishing this afternoon between 3:30 pm and 7:30 pm. We iced two perch and five walleyes. There seemed to be quite some suspended fish.

Irrigation Bay is along the NW shore near the back end of Coteau Bag. There is a fenced in compound where SERM has it's spawn camp. As I remember there are signs on the points of the bay. Hope this info is accurate.

Yup you guys right. The bay is always clearly marked during the closure. They put signs up at the mouth of the bay

It WAS a great day.  Made some new fishing buddies on this sight the past couple years. RF is one of them. Always great to fish with you.

Ice is good. Today we walked on. Just because I am reluctant to push my luck.
Starting to see the effects of the warm weather but no problems walking anywhere you want.

was out at dan. east yesterday.  i would NOT drive on. There is a small gas well straight out from the launch about parallel with the shoreline. ice is getting mushy with different layers drilling down.

Just returned from danielson park boat launch. Ice were honeycombed and thinner than 20". Water sips up half way during drilling. Fishing was slow.

Ice yesterday much worse than Friday at Danielson
Very candle like ice. Bottom of holes blowing out as you drill
Variable ice thickness around old holes and gas seeps are affecting random spots.
Proceed with caution on foot as the season ends

BE VERY CAREFUL. This is today from Danielson.  Ice is NOT SAFE.
Even for walking in some spots.

It happened despite the most recent ice reports. It's lucky the accident happened right off the launch. It could be much worse further off.

looks like they got out. it always makes me cringe when you think there could very well be small kids along with adults that are inexperienced with ice driving conditions. as for the tow truck driver... pretty well charge what you want. all you can hope for is a lesson learned and they pass on their experience. ::)

When I got stuck in thawing mud far away from drivable path last year, it took less than $500 for ~2.5 hours of towing work by two trucks.  One gleeful tow trucker joked that I should go there every March. This one is much cheaper with less than one hour of work I believe.
