As you well know, March ice IS NOT safe.....
Yes, you can plank the ice, but, from there
you have no idea what you are stepping on...
I went through March Ice a few years ago and survived....
Thank God he is still with us.................... .....

All I know is there are now two guys I wouldn't take ice safety tips from here.  PikemanEd and now Johnny  :P 

Two years, two different members, both very lucky.  If we keep up at this rate it's likely someone could die. 

I hung it up for the season.  Nov 29 to April 4 is a long enough season for me. (especially after putting a leg through myself!)

You will take ice advice from me and like it john  ;D

A few years ago a friend of a friend whom I fished with once and awhile ,Fell though and drowned it was on the news !My friend stopped going for good and now I quit mid march it isn't worth dying for >>Good luck to everyone just don't be a bold icefisherman cause you won't be an old ice fisherman!!
