nice musky!  that's one of the only things I miss from moving to NY from NJ...muskies.  We have tigers around here.  And no local Musky, Inc. chapters...

Just to the northeast a bit you've got some real monsters! 1000 isles - St.Lawrence - or keep going there's Canada!  :o

yeah, I have been fishing the 1000 islands for almost 20 years.  It is not as good as it was, and I think there are more muskies in some of those lakes in NJ!  Caught more in the delaware too...They are big in the 1000 islands tho!!

I made my annual trek to Raquette Lake, NY for a couple days. 6 lakers on tip-ups and jigged a couple perch on Friday. Saturday was 3 lakers and jigged 4 perch and 10 smelt. Here's a couple of the lakers all from 19 to 21 inches:

thanks ol crawdad!

slipbob, I don't think the temps hit 20 that day but the wind speed sure did!
As far as looks, I bet if you asked camo_fish he'd deny any resemblance.
BUT TO THE FISH, WE ALL LOOK ALIKE!

very nice ADK lakers.

Well, lets see, beard, glasses, and the loss of hair. I guess you can say that we look somewhat alike, but, not really.  ;D
Maybe a little camo wearing would help.  ;)  :D

Again, great pictures and awesome ADK lakers, and I was up in Speculator all week, too. But, I stayed on Sacandaga Lake. We were even in the same area at the same time, too.  8)

Sorry guys, no camo in my closet...

Hey camo, I swung by your pictures thread and it looks like we both caught our first smelt the same weekend as well! Is fishing cool or what?

Nice ones Webguy.  I can FEEL that cold wind behind you in the first pic.  Brrrrrr!  I gotta say it again, you and camofish are like "stunt doubles"  :D

I was just thinking the same thing.    ::)

We haven't been able to get on the main lake to ice fish the deep water all winter, the ice was pretty ugly and non-existent at times. Right when we thought the ice season was over around here for us, a recent cold snap locked up the lake and there was 4 inches covering most of it. So after checking it out Saturday to make sure it was safe, we loaded up and hit the ice. I brought a camcorder to see if I could get some footage. The fishing was slow but Pat finally got a flag and it was a beauty, 41 inch muskie:

Things were quiet for a while, then the ice begand to groan and change a little.
Pressure Ridge Forming (I named her FLO):

As it warmed up the wind picked up, then it was my turn:
Jigging up a 9 pound channel catfish:

After releasing it, Dave suggested I weigh it in - too late! When I hooked up again I said if its bigger than the last I'll weigh this one in:
11 pound channel catfish:

After the 11 came an 11 lb. 4oz. kitty.

We had two other flags with no results and a couple fish on the jig that got off before we saw them. Not great numbers but a great day on the ice!

Great pictures. If that crack got any wider you could have trolled your jig in the water.
