After last year of talking to myself iv decided to install a am/fm /cd in my wheel house.. yep it got real bad come late march

I like it quiet, but sometimes if the fish ain't biting and I don't have a buddy to talk to I might turn on a radio. One thing I hate is when I'm out on the ice on a beautiful day and someone a hundred yards away is crankin the radio so loud I gotta move to the other side of the lake to get away from it. Sound travels on the ice and not everyone enjoys the same kinda music. If I did decide to carry a radio with me I would keep it just high enough for me to hear so I don't mess with someone elses day out. jmho

A while back when I did mostly tip up fishing and grilling on the ice with buddies ..had a radio ...not so much anymore ... now its jig'n and mov'n

I have one of those Eaton emergency radios. I like that at the flip of a switch I can get the weather at anytime.
I wouldn't count on using the crank for very long. Iv'e tried it and it sucks. Crank for five minutes then listen for five then crank again.
In a true emergency that could be a life saver though.
Batteries last a real long time in mine anyway.
Usually I listen to a local talk Radio program or Country music.
Only when I am out by myself though. With other peolpe we always have something to talk about.

I'm usually fishing by myself so once I get set up I listen to tunes I have loaded on my cell phone using ear buds so I don't become that "music Samaritan" that we've all had to put up with at some point.
