60* and cloudy!
F/H4, enjoy the MM.
IW, I am only about 2 miles from the Northville launch, Town of Day is about 8 miles and isn't much better and Broadalbin is about 14 and is a ZOO most of the time. The campsite is about 5 miles and not much different than Northville. There were quite a few boats coming out at Northville after the contest. He said it was his last launch for the year. It isn't too bad, if you have someone to hold the boat away from the dock.
Eddie, hope the Grandson lets you catch some fish. Good Luck!
Hope everyone has a good day and NEVER FORGET!...H2L

Well a great day at the museum lots to look at and see and it took us 3 hours just to go through and look at things without reading everything that is there. Went to the tribute they had and they honored several gold star families with a honor and remember flag through that foundation. Was very interesting day.

A few photos that I took, was just too interested in looking and reading what I could to pull out the phone.

Good evening, what a difference a day makes in terms of the weather cloudy sky here all day did receive some rain during the afternoon hours. In a sign of the changing times article in my local newspaper today saying the Sears store in neighboring town of Newburgh will be closing on October 16 Th. I assume another victim of on-line shopping. The mall the sears store is located in opened in 1980 Sears and Caldors were the two big anchor stores. Caldors left in the early 1990's and Bonton took it's place they also eventually moved out  their space in the mall is currently under construction to Become Hudson Valley resorts World Casino. Personally do not think this is the best idea for a shopping mall but time will tell. There have been many changes in retailors since the mall opened i'm not sure if any other origional merchants/stores are still at the mall. before sears moved to the Newburgh Mall they operated a store on Broadway in the City of Newburgh, this building is now our local DMV office.
Icefisher-45 thank you for the Budweiser 9?11 remebrance commercial link. Out of curiousness Googled the weight of Rolls-Royce and Bentley models both average close to five thousand pounds so agree it would have to be a powerful electric motor to propel either vehicle. Also any vehicle used to transport a member of England's royal family will weigh even more with all the added safety features to protect family members.
Ice Wanderer it will be interesting to see how much fall color there is this year and how soon the majority of leaves start changing color. May the two of you have safe travel to Maine. Good weather and fishing wished for you.
Whopper Stopper thank you for posting the twin Towers drawing .Today weather by me cast a sober mood on this day of remembering given my area's proximity to NYC several county residents were killed on that day. A good number of NYC police officers and fire fighters reside in my county. The Town of Blooming Grove/Village of Washingtonville was home to five firemen  who gave their lives helping others.
Hunts2long it sounds like you maybe winterizing your boat soon unless there is a major sudden increase to GSL's water level.
wallyworld may your DIL's covid case stay mild and she recover quickly with no lingering problems from the virus. god to read your local gas prices have dropped under $4 dollars a gallon.
Old Goat may you have caught some fish if you got out today.
Drifter may your lunch in White Horse have been a good meal. i hope you had no problems crossing the border. Safe travel wished for the rest of your trip.
Fish/hunt4ever good to read all of you enjoyed the museum. Thank you for the photos did the have any photos of the "Gun" and railcar  the fired the massive shell in your last photo.
Eddie going to assume you and grandson had a great day of bass fishing so you relaxed today and will post tomorrow or found one of your other granchildren had used your tablet while you fished and forgot to put it on charger when finished so you had low/dead battery this morning.

May those of you who are grandparents have received some type of message from or gotten to spend time with your grandchildren today.
May everyone stay safe and healthy. best to all fishing this week.

Steve…my grandson and I caught a few Bass, nothing too big but we had a good time. There were plenty of small pickerel anxious to bite, so that helped keep him occupied, lol.   Yes, you were correct on the IPad being dead yesterday morning.  :'(

Bud…best of luck with the maiden voyage today, hope everything goes well and the fish are on the chew!

H2…should be pretty quiet at the launches today, good luck this morning if you’re heading out!    How was the bowling last night?
Marv…thanks for sharing the towers…We’ll Never Forget!

Watched quite a bit of TV and news yesterday covering 9-11, hard to believe it was 21 years ago and the memory of it was still as fresh as when it happened. May we never see anything like that again.
Some maintenance to do on my truck today and get things in order for Thursday’s trip…Cawfee’s on!

Yeah they had pictures of the rail gun, there were only ever 2 built and the Nazi's destroyed them before anyone could copy the design, my wife took a picture of the kids by the projectile, boy was it big and would cause major damage when it came back down.  Well back to work on the week by myself, then a one day weekend and travel down to Tulsa on Sunday to install the new instrument Monday.  Have a great week everyone.

Good evening overcast sky to start the day I did eventually see some blue sky in the afternoon. I'm not sure what work is being done  received notice that water service to my building will be shut off from 9 to 11 Am tomorrow. Hopefully there is no need to extend this period of time.
Ice Wanderer no idea when you will see our posts may the two of you be safely at your lodging in Maine. may you have good weather and fishing. Enjoy the local seafood.
Eddie good to read the two of you caught a few bass and the pickerel population at the lake also gave you plenty of action. Guess you have to get into the habit of checking your Ipad's battery level each night before heading to bed so it can be charged if needed and ready for your use the next morning.
Hunts2long congratulations to your teammates and you on a good start to the bowling season. happy to read the surgery has given you improved night vision.
Whopper Stopper glad the girls were able to get in one more fishing trip before their vacations ended to bad about the big pike getting off the hook while trying to net it.
Wallyworld may your son and DIl's health continue to improve as they recover from the covid infections. have a good trip to lake Erie may you get into some trophy size walleyes. Enjoy the cookies.
Icefisher-45 may your wife be recovered from her long work day.  may the two of you be able to get out with Mr.Dickens before she has to return to work later this week.
Fish/hunt4ever the artillery gun and rail cars must also have been very large in order to fire off a shell of that weight and size and for the car to support the total weight of the gun and shell.  Sounds like all of you had a good time at the museum . May things not get to bad while you are working solo this week. Also may everything go well with the Tulsa trip.
Drifter may you be at or close to your camper's location in Alaska.

Have a good night everyone.

I have a tree job to keep me busy today. It should go well, I have 20 white pines a raise. Probably the worst part will be crawling around on the wet grass before things dry out some.

Good Morning, Feels like fall on this hill, waking to 50* and like Marv possibility to reach 80*

Neighbor called inviting us to come get some pears, went for a look and Oh My tree is loaded, and some huge ones at that.  Lady of the house said she would have called earlier if she had known we would take some, to use for baking or canning.  Picked up 3 grocery bags, so enough for starters, and will give Pear butter a shot.

As it was a little windy, yesterday put off taking the boat out, so plan on doing that today.  Unless I get distracted.....again.

With the morning moisture on the hay fields almost looks like frost in the morning light.

take care all.

Well another solo day almost in the books just one mishap on a trailer not passing but all is good so far, just waiting on samples from one of the sister plants to run and they were supposed to be here by noon, now the tracking says 1:30 to 4:30 this afternoon, guess I will see how long of a day this gets me into.  Have a good one everyone looks like all are doing good.

Oh and my rant for the day, got the boat deposit done awhile ago and now they came back saying it will be another 8000 bucks for the boat, so took a few things off, since I cannot get a helix 7 in the dash anymore went with the analog dash instead of the computerized dash and a couple other things but only cow they said if anything the price would be lower, oh and shipping went from 4500 to 7000 as well, but they are keeping the original on that one thankfully.  Hope fuel prices keep going down and this whole inflation crap with the free money give away stuff stops some.  Well better get off my high horse before I get too mad, since I still have no idea when the side by side will be here either, what a crap shoot when it comes to getting things.  have a good one everyone.

FH4. Sounds like you had a rotten day like I had, got the boat in the water, got it started, then wouldn’t go into reverse without killing the motor, Got it to engage in forward, not like it should of course, then Acted like a wake boat, didn’t want to rev up and on plain.  :%$#!: :%$#!: :%$#!: :cookoo: :cookoo: :cookoo:

If that wasn’t bad enough got word Sandra’s car broke down at Hinton Oklahoma and never made it to the funeral 😢😢. She got told it’s lost spark to #3 cylinder, so a what ever controls that is fried  ???  Have yet to hear what else or cost of getting it repaired.

Only bright side of today parts for the small 4 stroke we’re waiting for me when I got home.  At times almost want to not get out of bed in the morning.

Marv get all 20 pine’s taken care of ?

Time to unwind

Evening all,

IFF...sorry to hear of your troubles, sometimes it feels like bad luck is all there is

On that note let me begin at the beginning,  blew a trailer tire at 70 mph on I-90. Found the spare had gone almost flat in the 24 hours since the pressure was checked. And I forgot to mention it was POURING at the time. Limped of the highway, found a tire shop $450 and an hour later back on the road.
Got on the lake at 7 this morning, knowing t-storms were being forecast this afternoon. Kept an eye on the sky, fought the waves from 1 direction and the rollers from another direction. Managed to put 8 legal eyes, 3 shorts, 6 perch in the boat. Decided to call it quits before the rain started. Pulled our lines and headed in. About 1/2 way in the skies opened up. Then the hail started along with the lightening. Pulled into the dock, tied up, ran for the truck as the wind kicked up to around 40mph. Spent the next 2 hours soaked sitting on a tarp in the bed of the truck. Got the boat and gear taken care off when the storm finally passed. Back to our hotel, power was out. Back on now and I'm calling it a day lol.

Stay safe, stay healthy.

Good evening, Soory to see from reading your posts it was not a pleasant day for many of you. Received some rain overnight and had overcast sky this morning which cleared as the day progressed. Whopper Stopper may all have gone well with the tree work today.
Hunts2long may the cost to repair your wife's CRV not have been to costly. Hopefully Rocky and Scout enjoyed their time spent together and hopefully Lindsay helped with the dishes after dinner.
Eddie happy to report that all must have gone well with today's plumbing work tried my sinks around noontime and one the air in lines bled out all functioning properly. Good to read your truck is ready for Thursday's trip. May all have gone well at your doctors appointment.
IFF sorr y to hear about your problems with the big boat's motor and Sandra's car. may the cost to fix the car not be to high what little i know most newer cars today have electronically controlled ignition systems. I'm glad you had some good events recently with getting the parts for 4 stroke motor and pears from your neighbor.
Fish/hunt4ever may you not have had to work overtime today to run tests on the samples from your sister plant. Personally think i would have told the boat dealer to write me a check to cover deposit and cancel boat sale. One thing i learned during this pandemic is that the U.S. needs to bring back some manufacturing jobs so we are not dependent on foreign made parts. Believe china is playing with us since they are not happy with our current relationship with Taiwan.
wallyworld to put a positive spin on your Lake Erie trip to date thankfully you did not crash when the trailer tire blew especially on wet pavement. and when you finally get onto Erie's waters for a few hours the two of you caught 8 legal size walleyes. Everything makes a great story to share with others and laugh about in the future.

May everyone have a good Wednesday. Best to all fishing this week.

WW Yes sometimes we get tossed some curves. Like just a few minutes ago, NO Internet ??? a reboot took care of that problem, a little catch up on the thread, cup of coffee and sorry, on the setbacks, and WTG on the catching.  :cookoo: :%$#!:

I noticed on the Lawrence HDS 7 its last chart was on Lake Erie. Still a learning curve on what its showing on the many of the pages.

No water bath canner, found in any of my hiding spots, so will be checking out what Walmart may have, so some of those nice pairs can be canned.

Kitty says its nap time, wants to cuddle up.

Here's to a much better day....fresh coffee is on.

Good Morning Everyone,
Clear and breezy 56* to start the day off, high of 73 today. Will be in 40’s this time tomorrow if the guessers are correct.

Looks like I sent a post out to la la land…will try to catch up a little later on.   :%$#!:  Cawfee’s on though!
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!
