Just talk to people, even if they are not so nice, end it cordially. Most fisherman like to talk to other fisherman, some of the best conversations I have had were in a bait or tackle shop.

So your that guy that every time I'm in a hurry an want to run in and grab my bait and go, won't shut up and keeps talking to me and the guy selling the bait

I’m often surprised by how folks I ask say they are IS members or lurk  . I know ifw guys too, that check (lurk) us out. 
Heck, I got so I just ask! I find if see and I ask someone that seems to have a degree of expertise, there are VERY often IS folks. That is the identifier

Kind of like the day I met you at MS and I ask if you were Clamfarmer on IS
