Limit today- got on ice at 7:30ish, didn't catch anything until 9:30ish and they really seemed to turn on after 10:30. I did get the atv out today but ill be walking from now on until the snow goes down and the slush re-freezes

Got more fish than I deserved yesterday.  :P
Didn't get on the ice until after 8. I walked close to a mile. Cut 1 hole and got my limit with 2 bonus sunnies, a big bucket mouth, and a laker. The action was fierce the 1st 2 hours. Instead of punching more holes to find my limit quick. I took a nap!  ;D
Woke up to finish my limit and headed out.
Same rig as I've been using. Tiny red tungsten under that scud bug.
I'm tempted to run to 307 and buy what they have left before they're gone for the year.

For the parents wanting to get the little ones out,
My kids are going to be ticked, but we're finding something other than fishing to do this weekend.
Unless you have a neoprene suit. You're not going to be able to keep the little ones dry.  :-\

prchslyr,
Thanks for the report thats unfortunately not what I wanted to hear but needed to hear so I appreciate that. My little girl in pink has had the ice fishing bug ever since she beat a bunch of boys in a derby boy did she let them have it. I have learned as I imagine will all the little ones, if they are not comfortable and wet they are miserable even if they are catching fish. Please keep any reports coming if possible.

It was pretty bad man.
1/2" of crust with 3 or more inches of water underneath. That crust was breaking with every step we made.
One heck of a workout today.

The youngest wasn't havin' it!  ;D Both had rubber boots waiting at the door when I picked them up.
We got our 1st blank of the year chasing those dang sewer trout again.  ::)
Back to perching next weekend for the tourney.

Forecast is showing some nice cold weather coming our way. It should tighten the slop up for us and get back to building ice.
It's shaping up to be one LONG ice season. And an awesome one for the offspring and I. ;D
I'm already dreading ice out knowing it has to end sooner or later.  :'(

This am you could walk on top of the slush and snow on most spots. By afternoon it was like walking in mud. Every step you went through hard slush/snow into water. Quads made it out ok. Not cruising but weren't struggling...Yesterday was a struggle with the quad. Sleds should rip right through it, will fling slush everywhere though. Find a spot where there is more snow off the paths. We found some deeper snow and stayed on top of the water for most of the day.

Worst day I've had so far ended up with 17 mostly all 10 inches was nice but couldn't find any numbers that wanted to cooperate. I did go with a buddy to a new spot for half the day but then went back to my honey hole and just couldn't find any good numbers that also would bite.

The bite died around 1100 yesterday it seems.  Got one maybe 11 inches. The bottom was really murky last evening into today. The warm up didn't help my fishing at all.

Hey guys this might sound stupid because ive never been there but does anyone ever fish off of green island, I have a work conference at George and I've never fished there before so I figure I'll fish a few days, contour looks great off the island.  I'm assuming perch and lakers off the drop? ...any tips would be great

If you read through this thread and the BS thread you will get a lot of info on that area.
We access that area from Vets park. Lot of guys fish out there.
If you see "Vets" mentioned, they're talking the Green Island area.
There are some good perching grounds within the bay. Lakers have been caught within the bay, but you'll want to head out to the other side of Green and Crown Islands to get into the main body of the lake for good laker fishing. Good luck man.
