yes I caugth my biggest on a tip up 10' down over 90' fow, I do stagger mine but usually no deeper than 40' down because I don't like have to respool all that line and I have had decent luck putting them from 10 to 40' down. If your gonna put them on the bottom in 90 fow, make sure you have more than enough line, those lakers make some serious runs and don't like coming thru the hole. let us know how you make out! I haven't been in a while and just talking about it is getting me fired up to try this weekend.
alright thanks for the tips man. i have more than enough line on all but 1 tip-up so maybe il leave that 1 at home. wewere thinking of trying shiners but have you had better luck on like suckers and such. i will make sure to let you know how we do. hope to get a video to boot if i get 1 on the tip-ups haha
That's a Bluegill, no that's a Sunfish...I've heard it both ways!!

got a brown on a tip up last year that was 30 inches it was awesome

ton of ice went smelting there this evening looks like good ice on the whole lake

Got out on Canadice with my buddy Chris and he got himself a big laker. 31 inches and 11lbs!! didnt get any smelt and nobody out there did well either. only other action from the trip was having something steal the minnow from my tip-up cause the spool stuck  :'(
