Here's a few more day 1 pic's.  We started fast off the line, but she steadied out on us.  Ended up the day with 12 togue and that 9 pounder was the biggest one.

That weekend we were up was the best weekend of the entire winter as far as weather goes. Fishing was hot too!

I would assume they make an escape before mud season and for some well deserved R&R.

We're still here Slammah, but the snowstorm scared everybody off. We got about 12 - 14 inches up here. Hard to tell exactly. Huge drifts from all the wind. The lake already had 18" on top of the ice. Don't know how well things are going to go when a bunch of holes get punched next time. Slush on the shorelines already. We'll have to see.

Deep snow conditions on the lake, and sadly slush conditions to report. Wide tracks, Summits, Expeditions, and other such sleds will get along, but short tracks and older ice fishing sleds will not fare so well out here at the moment. Dog sleds highly NOT recommended!  Otter type tote sleds will be best.

On an up note, had a great ride on the unplowed roads yesterday. A lot of virgin snow that hasn't been hit yet.

Good Night Sweetheart...well, it's time to go.  Bah ba da da damp!
I'm always sad to see winter slip through my fingers, especially on a year like this when the road conditions are going to stay great out here in the woods. However, last weeks 14 inch dump has knee deep snow and some pretty good slush out on the lake right know, and we've got another 10 inches coming down right now. I'm afraid it's time for us to start thinking about spring vacation. The lake is NOT going to be pretty, so if anybody does head out here be very careful of the deep slush.

Thanks very much to all of you Hardwater Fanatics that came out this season. It was great to get to put a lot of faces to the names!  A couple of slow spots this year, but overall it was another fantastic season here at Ross. Hope to see a bunch of you in camp with us again next year. Tight Lines.
