I want to get the kids out this year a couple of times and it would be fun for them to hang out with some other kids at the same time.

Thanks for writing in your interest to the kids clinic! I had several good offers from members to spend some time and teach kids some different tips and techniques... unfortunately, it never really got off the ground! never got alot of feedback on people interested in bringing their kids or getting them involved in something like this! However, kids are still welcome to participate... in the past some kids have shown up with nice catches to enter in the derby! Its nice to see the excited smile on a kids face knowing they may win a prize for something they caught!
S far as anything you could bring... right now anything you can offer would be great! But I would suggest holding out for a little while to see how the ice situation goes! Hopefully we will get ice back on conesus!

This is my intentions so that everyone is aware.........
If we have ice formation, but it is still shakey by the 18th to put that many members on... I will adjust the date by 2 weeks! If I have to, I will pick off one more date in March to try and do this... hopefully wont have to go that far! If I dont have it for March, Unfortunately we will all have to give up hope until next season!

There was also some talk today after icefishing about switching sites for the party every year... or possibly i could get it going with enough interest to do a couple gatherings in the season!
Keep those ideas in mind and we will get feedback going on that later for next season!

Is there any ice yet? I live about 30 miles south of the lake and we got down to 0* last night. If we get a few more of those kind of nights then the 18th should be a go.

Maybe you can make a decision on Friday evening February 10th, being a go or not. Forecasts indicate possible drastic weather changes for this period, and that to follow.

If you do decide to go on with it or if you change the date, could you make a strip map or something to let us know how to get there? Is it for everyone, or am I just inviting myself? First I need to know where the lake is. Then how far and how long it takes to get there from the Watertown area.

JEFFREYCROW, Its not looking too promising, but alot can change! I doubt it will happen on the 18th, but if there is good ice forming I will just be putting it off for like a week or so to allow the ice thickness to grow. If there is no ice in site... im pushing it off to march. I will only be picking one date for march with no potponements, if it doesnt happen then.. im sorry but we will just have to wait until next year!

you can forget about march. i dont even think it would be possible to build enough during march if there isn t already enough by the end of feb for the party.
myself i think the 18th looks very promising or at least the 25th, but i don t think any of our opinions are really worth crap as we have never experienced a weather pattern quite like this.
i do find it very interesting if nothing else

Hey Bobbers,
Well, all the other parties have been in March, I was just trying to get a jump on it this year for the possibility of having other parties! Boy did that get all mucked up! $:-\$
But yes, with this wonderful weather pattern this year we never know what we will have!
Conesus may make it by the 18th or at least the 25th if the winds give the ice making process half a chance to begin!
All I can do is hope... and hope and hope and hope...lol

I will be up your way soon... I may as well get some open water fishing taken care as soon as the winds die down! Planned on going there saturday, but my day got all screwed up and then sundays weather didnt look to good with the crazy high winds so i just went to the in-laws and got drunk!

Keep me in tune to how the waters are going out there!

Talked to a close firend that lives on the north end of the lake and can see the park on sunday, he said the lake had 3 foot whitecaps, not a shread of ice.

Went by this morning and there is still no ice

There has been way to much wind. The temp was in the lower 20's last night so it's wont take much now. Loon lake could be the only place with ice in the near future.

Well anyways, the ice is forming but just not fast enough to make it this weekend I dont think! $:-\$

This is the latest update from STRIKEMASTERS....
If it stays cold all this week one maybe able to get out on the ice but I dont trust Conesus with 3-4" of ice with a big party all bunched up. I would like to have 4-5". Do you remember when the ice settled when we all got together for the group picture last get to gether? The ice was all of 5" then. It doesn't look good but it has been 10 deg the last few nights and that could continue.

I am looking for at least 6 to 8 inches of good black ice. May get 6 or so, but I doubt this year is going to let us get 8 on that lake!
So, with that said..... I would like to hear from as many of you as possible to see who would still be in it if I push the date off 1 week to the 25th of February!
I know that this keeps making it tougher and tougher for alot of you... and its alot of work on my end also to try and keep this going... but I think it is in all of our best interest that if We cant make it happen by the 25th, we should probably call it a loss for the year and hope for a better chance next year!

So let me know who would still be in for the 25th and give me your feedback on calling it a loss if it doesnt happen on that date!

i have to start remodeling a kitchen on the 20th so the best i can say is maybe but i will be there if at all possible. enjoyed seeing some of you at case and would like a chance to see you guys again and meet some others.

the long range forcast too, has been said to produce some of the coldest temps we have seen yet this year ACCORDING TO THE WEATHER I SAW SUN NITE..sopose to get the artic air big time round this coming week end..should be good to go i would think for sure the 25th!!!

you know we will have the baitmobile there. i am a business man and an opportunist but all my people want to be the ones to go because they want to party & fish. No body wants to stay at the stores or mind the baitmobile. maybe we will have help yourself. sure, and maybe we will have 2 foot of ice.
you seem to have tried backup days, how about a back up location? i would love to get this group at braddock and/ or the ponds some time. as far as i can tell, that was the only place that was really somewhat crowded this weekend. but the water was filthy and only small dinks were generally caught even though there were people on all 3 ponds and the bay.
but that will change hopefully. you can bet on the ice though.

Keep in mind everyone, that is the same day as the TRAP ATTACK on Silver Lake!
Im pretty sure I wont lose alot of you to that, but I dont want to have to go into March if I dont have too!
March will be an extremely busy month for me, which might also consist of some fishing in Florida!
