icehogger84, I once saw my 12 yr old daughter in ICU hooked up to dozens of monitors after an accident... I had to walk outside the room to have an emotional breakdown before I returned... All I could think of was I was her Dad, and there wasn't a damn thing I could do to help her... Words cannot convey the sadness I feel for you and your family for the tragic loss of your son.  I could never imagine the pain I would feel. My Thoughts and Prayers are for you and the family this season sir.

It was a beautiful service, Your son is smiling on the big frozen lake in the sky, he will put that ice rod you sent with him too good use, and some day you will be reunited with your son... Rest in peace....

I just got on this post for the first time this fall and read your heartbreaking post. I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your son. I wish I could have had the privilege to meet him. My prayers are with you and when on the ice I will remember Daniel.

Just checked the ID site and saw this....  I know how much you love spending time on the ice with your kids.  Heartbreaking.  Daniel will always be remembered.  My thoughts are with you and your family.

Finally able to read this again. And again, thank you all. It is only the prayers, love and support of friend and stranger alike that has gotten us this far.
