Tried Brieux on fri and was a petty good day. WE landed and released 9 pike biggest one 10 pounds and 2 eyes. It was just a beautiful day to be fishing.

really sharp looking fish there.
Thanks Ran7ger, my biggest I've ever caught out of the Brieux, however I've heard people catch much bigger ones than that. Wouldn't mind latching into one of those to get the kinks out of the line!! lol.

Dandy pike, way to go gomwitdawind. :)

WW
Thanks Waterwolf & Broom jockey, I'm just wondering if the access road at the launch will get blown in after this fierce wind! I was on kipabiskau lake today and wimped out, spent most of the day in the truck watching still lines hiding from the 60 - 70 km. winds ! finally connected with some perch and pike before dark in 6 feet of water after the wind had abated to hurricane force!!LOL. Mind you with the warm up the snow got a good glaze to it to keep it from drifting!

was out at lungs on  Monday the wind was brutal in the late afternoon also. they had plowed the road to the lake but was already blowing in on the lake. The snow is not deep but very hard By the time I came from the little lake around to lungs my tranny was hot. The bite was slow on Monday but still managed a few walleye out by the far east shacks.

I was wondering if anyone could PM me a bathymetric map of St.Brieux (if there is even one out there)?!

Might be heading out there sometime next week and not sure where to go and I don't see one on the Env. website.

Thanks.

As you will be able to see from the shacks.  You can catch fish on any part of the shore.  It doesn't matter where you fish on the lake, you will catch fish if they are biting.  South end is usually best but can be hard to get to because of the snow.  There are usually 150 shacks spread accross the lake.

Headed out today to check on shacks, move mine after the wind storm (it survived) and check on a few for friends. Heard that there was a bunch that are totaled on LL and Stoney. Any word on the scene at brieux? Wonder how many went tumbling up there?? Hopefully do a pre fish and dig my shack out. Derby day tomorrow!

My shack was totalled.  Brand new, used 2 times.  Extremely disappointing.  Father in law looked said it looked like a bull dozen hit.  He said looks like someone piled it up for me.  Thanks to whoever.  But I think I may have donated a stove?   Or maybe there will be a lost and found at the derby.  Guess she's tent fishing for the rest of the year

Much slower on the Brieux today, ended up with 3 pike and 2 walleye, most others I talked to could count their fish on one hand too! Yes, there was a bit of devastation on the lake, saw at least a few that were totaled and a couple on their sides. Let's hope that doesn't happen again in the near future! Good fishin to everyone that is in the lake Lenore tourney tomorrow, hopefully the fish ( and the winds) cooperate!

Really slow day yesterday at the small lake.  Fished from 9 - 6 all over the lake trying to find where they were hiding but to no avail.

We only marked a few fish all day and managed to pull in a lonely walleye that ended up as a midnight snack.

Anyone else have luck?

We drove out last saturday and it was fine.  Fishing was good in the morning but slowed up late afternoon.  Not sure what the wind did to the lake saturday night but i cant imagine much since everything is so hard out there, the snow will jsut blow away.

Hey Everyone,

I am thinking about going out to Lenore this weekend and was wondering if there are any updates on how the bite has been?

Also wondering if it is still possible to drive on where the tournament was held (Lungs Beach?).  I think we will try there as we have only been to lenore/brieux once and we tried up at St. Brieux.  Would there be any other good spots to access and fish Lenore?  I see spots on the west side of the lake where the water comes right to the road.  Any ideas what the access and fishing would be like in those spots?

Thanks

Apparently fishing has been poor all over except for hot times or lucky spots. It's blown in again at lungs, I don't think there is access. Little lake is still plowed and is ok. St Brieux has been plowed out at launch as well. This is typical for LL, February is a brutal slow fishing month.

We were out on the big lake this morning. Marked a few fish but couldn't get them to bite. Access at lungs was decent but won't take much to blow in again. Getting around with the truck once we were on the lake was fairly easy.
