I had a lucky day last year...I don't expect much...although those fish are in the river...plenty of 30+" eyes there...there's a photo of a 28" caught today on the Manitoba section...anyway, I'm planning to have fun, enter whatever I can, and hope I get lucky in the random draws, assuming they remain.

That all being said, we have big fish in a number of categories here...we don't bother to catch trash fish like bass through the ice  ::) ;)  Pike, burbot, walleye, perch, crappies, and possibly others could come from this part of the world.

You had better check with the rest of Team Manitoba Thriller. They would be disgusted to see you didn't list lakers and rainbows. "Possibly others" doesn't sound convincing.
BC will win in all 3 categories...Burbot, lakers, and rainbows :flex: :flex: :flex: ;D.

You guys do have huge walleyes there.  But not big enough to beat out our 43 inch burbot

Wow!  Nice fish...I'll be keeping my eyes open for the registration.  Every year...how many people forget to register?  What a shame....  I should do well this year with all the jigs Ice Shanty was good enough to award me with my monster pickeral last year.   :o  Just goes to show you don't have to have a "monster" to win the weekly drawing!  Will be in Florida first week of January visiting my oldest son in colleg and the folks.  Maybe I can find some good ice fishing gear down there cheap!

Where the heck are all the "Cheeseheads and FIBers"  All I am seeing and hearing are the longwinded eastenuhs :cookoo:. Are you midwesterners laying low just waiting for the right time to talk trash?  Come on now I need someone close to home to talk about how great the ice fishing is here. :(

Am I the only one to represent the beautiful state of Illinois.  Now lets hear it from you Illinoisans!!!!!!!!! ;D

TGF...I was being deliberately vague...I don't want to dishearten all the other IS'ers out there yah know  ;)  It will be more fun if they decide to enter anyway  ;D  Now, wouldn't it be ironic if, with all your talk, you caught the winning burbot on your trip to Manitoba?  Of course, we'd need to get you and her a room, but that's another topic...  :o ::)

I can say, almost without a doubt, that Manitobans won't win bass, bluegill, pickerel (seeing as we don't have them here at all, despite some people's insistence on calling walleye pickerel), or crappie categories (although there are some nice ones in this part of the world that would place).

All you New Englanders might as well not waste the space on this site, cuz us midwesterners are gonna clean house this year!   :flex:  Well, except for pickeral and bass.

Always wear clean underwear, cuz ya never know when the paramedics are gonna have to cut your pants off.

If TGF catches a burby over 40" I'm going to feel sorry for that fish. Unluckiest burbot on the planet no doubt! Who's paying for the room? ::)
