Didn't have the Chance to clean 2 eyes from yest. Left them in plastic bag buried in snow bank. Came out this morning to find neighbors cats dug them up and ate the heads, tails, etc off them.

Crazy day for me today. Had chores to get done this am...then hauled as# up 81 to meet a buddy  on oneida. Grabbed some bait, loaded the sled , and headed out at high noon. Drove out 2 miles ,couldn't find my bud, stopped to make a call...no answer..then the sled would not move :'( Hey stupid choo choo, you got scratchers ,so USE them when conditions are questionable.Track locked up...walked to a couple of nice guy's from West Monroe, who helped me break the track free(thanks guy's!!) Put the scratchers down and no more issues ...found my buddy  at 1:30 , and finally drilled my first hole at quarter to two. Then Gashed the top of my thumb on the auger blade! :'( Thankfully  I was able to land 4 keeper walleyes and a real big burbot before dark . (released the burbot...too big and cool to kill)

2 0f the 3 I kept

late afternoon,looking towards Brewerton
My boots on some ice... A line down a hole...Some fish on the screen... And a flag in the air !......Winter is Good !!

choo choo, I see the snowmobile, no problems on the glare ice? Fan cooled? What precautions if any have you been taking? It would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

By the way, awesome burbot!

Thanks Bart...yes, it's a fan cooled. There was about1/4 inch of fresh snow covering the ice....no glare ice, and I thought enough snow would get kicked up and cool things down on the track and slide groove. I was wrong. There was snow kicked up in the tunnel, but not enough to cool things down.2guys held up the rear of the sled, and I pounded the track free with the top end of my spud.Motor ran beautiful all afternoon, and the trak was fine , after I put the scratchers down.

i was doing some thinking and if you put some ice skates on your feet you can steer your motor cycle better on the ice. just a thought.

Heard something on the scanner earlier about Lewis point road. Idk how he went in. The ice was solid yesterday. Wheelers and sleds all over.  Lets hope for the best...
